Killing Time Over The Internet: The Best Way so far.

I just got hired at accenture last july 5. The week after that was our SAP ABAP skill bootcamp. The training is so cool and knowing that ABAP is not a mediocre language, I really make it a point that I Learn every single lesson I can learn from that camp. In the mean time, during lunch break hours or even after the programming session. Because some of my train-mates aren't finished yet. I took the liberty to check codes and re evaluate my semantics. But after that... What?? Nothing left to do??

Well, of course I browse the web and try to kill time. However, Accenture has a firewall that blocks website with which Accenture sense harm on surfing or not related to work like Facebook, Twitter etc. etc. Good thing they approve Google to be a default site that can be accessed anytime. I searched and searched just to satisfy my idleness until i bump up into a site that compiles forwarded office emails. It's at fwdemailscollection.com And I had a lot of fun reading Forwarded Emails on the web. And It simply kills time. Me laughing at my own though. But some emails their gave me information I've never know that it circulated the web over the past few years. I wasn't just aware that Emails has the power to do that.

Philippine Typhoon: Basyang.

It's the first typhoon that hit the Metro since this last summer of 2010. However, it inflicts unexpected devastation mainly on Metro Manila. Leaving the capital city powerless for more or less a day. The typhoon has destroyed a lot of establishments mainly billboards, electric posts and trees Leaving a huge aftermath of destruction.

The gusty wind was never expected as PAGASA anticipated. President Noynoy Aquino reprimanded the PAGASA because of giving a mediocre report about the typhoon.

Amazingly, Meralco has done an outstanding job backing up the lines after the typhoon. The estimated time to fix all the power outage problems over Metro Manila is 2 to 3 days. But by seeing their performance, they are doing well especially here in the southern Luzon area. They backed up the electric lines in more or less a day and I am highly confident that the restoration of electricity over the Metro will be done by tomorrow(just a day).

How to delete a Group in Facebook?

Deleting a group in Facebook isn't possible if you still have members in your group. And technically speaking, YOU can't delete a group in Facebook. Facebook will.

So to delete a group:

1. Go to The group page.
2. Select Members
3. Remove them all.
4. And when you removed all of them. Remove your self and Your group is Gone.

I was also asking that question few weeks ago. But now, I was like. "Why didn't i see that?".

Deleting in facebook is kinda misleading. Of course, Facebook doesn't want you to delete your friends. They want you to socialize and add as many friends as possible in order for you to get attached to the site. How clever!

So if you ever want to delete a friend, or a stalker in your account. Here's how:

1. Log in to your facebook account.
2. Go to the page of the person you want to delete as a friend.
3. Click 'Remove from Friends" just right below the sidebar and above the 'Share' Button.
4. After deleting. Check if that person is deleted by going to his page.
5. done.

Reviewing Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood: PSP Game

Gameplay: The game play is sort-of a fighting game and dialogs. However, you cannot choose what to say. It will just dictate the story as you go along with the game. The goal in every fight is to reduce the opponent's HP to zero. You can play as Edward Elric or Alphonse Elric. You will choose who you will play at the beginning of the game. Say if you choose Ed, Al will be AI. Same if you choose Al, Ed will be the AI.

It's a 2v2 Fighting Game but you can choose to fight alone 1v1. You can do adhoc party with your friends. Finish the Story together and have fun. The controls are just right for the PSP console. By pressing two combined buttons, you can perform Alchemy and by pressing the normal buttons you can perform normal attacks and block. Thought there's a catch when playing 2v2 game. You need to simultaneously bring your opponent down or else if you focus just on one opponent, the other one may resurrect the fallen opponent and regain HP equal to his team mate. So you need to manage attacks that
target them both. And beat them at the same time.

The whole game as I've said is a dialog game that is parallel to the Manga story. It's just pictures and subtitles together with their Japanese voices. But when you're fighting, the scenario goes light 3d. What i really love in this game is that when even your character got bruised or beat up. It will really manifest on your character. Say al will have a slotted bruised armor or Ed will have a torn-out clothes. Makes me feel kinda realistic.

Graphics: 8/10

Over All Ratings: 7/10

Comments: Although the Anime/Manga version is awesome. This game were not as good as it. I think they've just created it for the sake of just-to-have-a-game version of the anime and it turns out a very mediocre game. I'd rather watch the Anime/Watch the manga Version rather than completing this whole game and turns out, The story is as same as what Arakawa-Sensei created.

He focused on his campaign to remove corruption on his era and hopefully, He can fulfill his promises to us. He indirectly offended the previous government (PGMA's) about the Numbness of them against the poverty-stricken people who are crying for help on the previous government. He even told to those that hurt him, or insult him in any way that He can forgive them and He had already forgave them. But those who've done anomaly to his countrymen, He cannot forgive and forget. "For If there is no Justice, There's no reconciliation" he said.

Truly that P-Noy has a very promising inaugural speech. He has risen the hopes of our Filipino countrymen. But words are just words. We need to see Actions that will make Philippines a Country worth living again.

It's a story about a boy named Santiago and how he reached his dreams, Travel, Meet people, and meet Fatima. His real treasure.

For me, It's about sensitivity about life. On how we must interact to the creator of life. How we respond to different omens and situations. On how we deal with things in a futuristic approach.

It is a worth reading book. Believe me. Paulo Coelho really overdid the book and turns out, Inspire a lot of people to never stop reaching their dreams and have faith on The One created us.

HoN on Lan? That would be Wicked Sick yo! In previous versions of HoN, There's a Button Grayed out. It's the "Local Game" Button. Players are hoping that it will soon be available once HoN Hit the stores. But They didn't, HoN just released the Online International version. They didn't released the LAN version of the game just yet. It's been months. Until Now. Yes! You cannow Play HoN on LAN. Enjoy Playing with your friends in your own Computer Cafe. Or use Hamachi to connect with each other.

HoN being LaN gives a lot of opportunities to people experiencing LAG online, Having slow connections (128kb below). And for people who just want to play a blunt game and enjoy it with their friends with no playing fees, no lag, much more than dota.

Garena dudes are starting to adapt the said HoN Lan version on their server. Hopefully they will. No! They must! But come to think of it. The original vendors of HoN will sure lose huge amount of money. well, well, what's the point of paying to play online on THEIR server while you can play online through Garena with lots and lots of individual server?

Well, If ever Garena will port the game on their server. I hope they will do something about the "Quitters" Issue.

Reviewing Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands PSP

Story: The story takes place before the Prince of Persia Series began. It is when Ahihud tried to kill all Persian Royalties because of the prophecy that he will be killed by a Royal Blood. While the whole empire is under attacked, The Prince saw a light and followed it. The light was one of the daughter's of time namely Helem. He told the Prince that she can guide her to Ahihud and avenge his family but in exchange, the Prince will help Helem free her three more sisters that Ahihud imprisoned. And yeah. It's a lot different story from the PS3 and Xbox 360 Version.

Gameplay: Okay. I'd be honest with you. This game isn't what I'm expecting from Ubisoft. It's a two directional game. Somewhat like a 2D game. Don't get me wrong. a lot of people say that it's 2D. It's not! It's 3D with 2D Controls. Don't be silly.

Of course you'll play as the Prince. Trying to Avenge/Rescue your whole royal family from Ahihud and you got Helem that will help you in your adventure. You'll encounter Whirl winds. Spike traps. and of course, Ahihud's minions. In this game. You have the power to accelerate time or to stop time. For an object at least. You got to have proper timing on how to use them though. Because for instance, A flowing sand can be a ledge if you stop the time. It will become
solid. You can use it to climb and do your acrobatic stuff to move forward. However you can turn it back into a flowing sand by accelerating time. And some of the stages needs proper timing and execution to move forward.

The enemies are easy though. You can control an enemy to attack another enemy with your power to accelerate time. Most of the enemies are like a 10 hit combo and they're dead. I should say "it's a child's play". But what matters to me is the Puzzles. So it's not really a big deal to me. Not to mention, The final boss. Ahihud only takes 4 hits and he's dead. And believe me. It's the most easiest boss ever encountered so far. (Easier than Koopa! from mario bros.)

You'll have the fountains as your save point and replenish your health and recall. The Recall isn't really detailed. Unlike on the PS3 version of the game. And literally, All you can see in this Game is about Sands. Truly a Prince of Persia v1(The one that is played on DOS) essence.

Over All Ratings: 6/10

Comments: If you're looking for an improved Prince of Persia V1. Here it is! Only 3d. However, I recommend this game for people that has a spare time trying it just for the sake of having ALL Prince of Persia played. It's not the best PoP Installment but worth downloading/buying and stuff if you like puzzles and you want to test your reflexes and timing with this game. I myself spent 13 hours to play this game.

2 Directional Gameplay. Isn't Really the trend. :P

Maroon 5: Hands All Over Album

Oh yeah! Maroon 5 is going to release their album on September 21, 2010. It is entitled "Hands All Over". Again they're going to showcase mesmerizing and sexy songs as they've done before. One of the songs they're going to release with the album is entitled "Misery". And believe me, It's another sexy song. Maybe because of Adam's Voice. But The Musicality of the song is superb! You can listen to it, say when you're on a traffic jam. Just hit the Play button on your iPod and you're ready to go for an hour and a half of no-moving-vehicle-time! I'm looking forward for the Album's release and I know for sure, It's a collaboration of superior. Sexy. Hot. and Confident Maroon 5 songs.

Reviewing Toy Story 3: The Game

Gameplay: The game play is sort of a usual go-get-to-the-finish-line game only 3d. It's like Mario bros. and Donkey Kong where you can play as Woody, Jessie, Buzz and etc. The game is following the movie's story line too. I won't spoil you the story though. It's just that, when you've already watched the movie and play this game. This game offers no surprise anymore. Your controls are the analog stick for moving 360 degrees. The directional pads as a camera revolver and the other buttons to execute a command. You're mission is to complete the story of the Movie. The game offers mission such as Collect-Items and stuff. Challenges as well like Do-a-certain-thing-in-one-move that gives spice to the game. If you do missions, you can acquire more starts. Which will be given to you after the level and buy something on the store which is either an image art or cheats that could be useful for the game. You can download more game modes on PSP store specifically on Woody's, Buzz's and LGM's minigames.

Comments: Truly a game for Kids. As the Toy Story 3 Franchise withholds kid's imaginative fantasies. However this isn't a game for those that wants gory and bloody scenes. Heck this game don't have a dying(violent) seen. Even when Buzz defeated Zurg. It remains wholesome. I recommend to Play this game before watching the movie.

1. Go prepare your Valid IDs. In my case, I just presented my School ID. And If you're a student. They will only require you 1 valid ID which is your School ID. However if you're an employee, they will require you your company ID with TIN and SSS.

2. Before going to the bank. Make a photo copy of your documents for it will be submitted to the bank for requirements. It's alright if you don't photo copy the documents, the bank will do that for you. But believe me. It will save time.

3. Go to your nearest Union Bank Branch. And pass the requirements.
4. Bring 350 php to cover the Whole year's Debit card usage. In my case, I brought 350 php but they didn't accept my payment yet. They told me to come back after one week and then I'll pay for the card. But hey, just bring 350 php in case.
5. Wait for a week or whenever the bank told you to come back. Ask them first via phone if they have your card ready for pick up.

You're not done yet. After getting the Card. You'll have to Enroll it to their Online Account Management. Here's How.

NBA 2010 Playoffs Champion: LA Lakers!

Celtics x Lakers. A historic game for both teams. Truly, worth to watch until game 7.

Lakers won! Another domination as Lakers ended the match with 5 point lead. 79-84. It's unbelievable how Lakers has done it. I mean, on the first half, Boston leads 9 points and nearly on the 4th quarter does the Lakers got their lead on the second half. It's a miracle.

Fist half: Fisher starts the game with a downtown shot. But suddenly Boston takes lead after Lakers' failed free throw shots and kobe having low field goals on the game. It's a very breath taking live action happening on the NBA when Lakers' struggles to tie but fails. Wallace did a great post shooting that contributes to Boston's lead against Lakers.

Second Half: Again, on the 3rd quarter. Boston still has the lead but slowly depleting. However on the 4th quarter, Fisher being back from an injury he took during the 3rd quarter, Has done a miracle 3 pointer that ties the game of 64-64 then eventually Lakers got the lead. Wallace got fouled out, another problem for Boston. Pau Gasol did a very outstanding game. Making points, Rebounds and shooting freethrows most of the time. While Kobe. Of course, in spite of his 32% field goals. Has done some serious damage on 4th quarter against Boston.

Truly Boston is a worthy opponent for Lakers. Hope they'll face off again for another exciting NBA season.

God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta for Sony PSP!

God of War. One of the most greatest games ever released in the PSP Console. Has another Prequel Story on How Kratos Became the Ghost of Sparta. As the Narrator said on the Trailer. "Every end has it's beginnings..."

Just like the God of War: Chains of Olympus. It took place before the God of War Series. Namely 1,2 and 3. Since The Ready at Dawn Studios utterly finishes the God of War series. They've come up with going back to the past scenes. I guess to buy sometime for God of War 4 Hopefully.

The tentative release date of the Game is on December 31, 2010. Within the trailer, It is absolutely classified as an E3 game. We'll, that goes for cinematics. But we don't know if the gameplay version will still be classified as E3.

I'm looking forward for this Game ever since I've got my PSP last 2008. My first game was God of War: Chains of Olympus by the way. No wonder why my Casing is Red Blood God of War Edition. Since then, I never been detached to these game and hoping for Another release for the Portable gaming industry.

So guys! Hoooray! The Ghost of Sparta is Coming! I still hope that there's going to be a God of War 4 though.

Full Metal Alchemist 108 - Final Chapter of Manga.

It's always been very sad after a month of reading and waiting for a new chapter of your favorite Manga, The manga has to end. Once and for all. Yeah right. Nothing lasts forever. I should Say I'm pretty much satisfied on the ending. Ed having his arms back, although leaving his limbs to be an automail as a remembrance of their adventure. Al got his whole body back. with the exchange of Ed's Gate. Which is every alchemists power to do alchemy or equivalent exchange. And since Ed can't do equivalent exchange, He can't do alchemy at all. leaving him a normal person. But Ed states that he's a normal person since the beginning, so he need not to worry.

I'm looking forward for a small twist in the Anime Version though. But overall, I love how Arakawa-Sensei ends his stories and stuff. Happy yet a little pun of tragic (referring to Ed can't use alchemy).

What an exciting victory LA Lakers has gotten after losing from boston on game 5. Scoring 3-2, Boston leading. Many Boston fans are pretty sure that their team will win for the game 6. But no! Bryant and Gasol showed an unremarkable performance that shows perfect synergy of the two. The crowd are shouting "MVP! MVP!" on Bryant. Hmmm... I smell who's gonna be MVP already!

At the first half, The Lakers has a 20 point lead against Bostons. Nailing them until last quarter. Well, What would you expect? It's their Home Court. Lakers has the liberty to enjoy their home court advantage. To top all that, Boston got bad missess. From shooting downtown to doing a simple lay up.
Indeed simple mistakes begets complicated cosenquences.

I bet both teams are getting ready for the game 7. Which is very seldom in terms of NBA Finals. Most of the time, One team is dominating over the other. Making the game shortened like 5 games tops. However, rumors had been spread that the game is sold to Lakers. Of course, Many sponsors will benefit if ever there's a game 7. But that's just a rumor. If proven, This will be a great hoax of the NBA history.

It's a very exciting 48 hours for the two teams, but still, The advantage is on the Lakers. Playing in their home court. Crowd cheering for them.

PC Overheating Problem. No no no!

One of the bigger problems with computers are overheating issues. These are a big deal since most hardware actually fails because it gets too hot versus actually getting old and wearing out. Heat will ruin your computer in the long run. If you stop your computer from overheating you will prevent this problem as well as random shut downs that many experience.
If you are running Windows download the application called SpeedFan. This helps you determine the core temperature of your computer. You will be able to tell if your CPU is running too hot or not. Generally if you see that it's in the upper 40s it's too hot.
If you can't use this application, generally a computer that is fairly warm to the touch needs to be cooled down. Every machine will have some heat, but excessive heat is what you are trying to prevent.
Dust out your computer. With a desktop, unplug it and dust out the inside. Also be sure to get the vents especially with a can of compressed air. With a laptop get the vents as good as you can.
Get into the habit of never blocking your vents. Desktop computers sometimes have poor airflow when shoved under desks and pushed against the wall. Laptops should never be left on a blanket but always on a hard surface for airflow.

Add more RAM to your machine. This helps the CPU to not have to be active all the time as much lowering temperature and boosting performance by default.
Get a laptop cooling pad if your notebook is a bit warm. This cuts down on it's internal heat and makes it more comfortable to use.
For your desktop if it's still warm after removing all the dust, consider putting a fan that will blow against it to lower the internal temperature. This might seem strange but it's worth keeping your hardware cool, lasting longer, and working faster.
Computers tend to overheat from time to time. This will kill your hardware and reduce your performance. Learn what you can do that will help cool off your machine

Word Reverse in C.

Hello, We've got another problem or should we say a challenge to solve coming from a site which I've been searching for puzzle and stuff. And suddenly I've seen this problem that reminds me of my Freshmen days when I was still on college. I remember the days when I was like. "Whoa?!, what is this stuff?". We'll that's my first impression on Turbo C. So Antique. But my late professor says, "If you want to be a good programmer, Don't forget the basic". And I will never forget that. All hail Prof. Juanito Doctor of De La Salle University Dasmariñas!

Here's the Problem:

Write a program that inputs a string of keyboard characters and outputs the characters in reverse order.

We'll, It's string manipulation time. We will use Arrays and Conditionals to solve this. We need to Exchange the first character to the last character of the string. Then the second character to the second to the last character of the string and etc. Like this....

So now. Since we know how to do that. It's time for the coding!

First Let's declare the Header files.

We need to include those. Those are the basic Header file for input and output which is stdio.h which means, Standard Input and Output while the string.h is responsible for string manipulation.

We need to declare the variables for this program as well. Now notice the "z" variable which has a number [99]. Note: It is not a function! It is an array. A one dimensional array to be exact. And the 99 denotes the size of the array. so we can say that...

z[1] = 33
z[2] = 5

Just be specific on the variable type. And in this case, The z variable type is a Character.

Now, This is the manner on how we get the input from the user with Strings. The "gets" function, or Get String Function is on the header file string.h. Unlike Scanf Function which is commonly used in inputting integers, The gets string function takes all inputs even there is a "space" character between the input.

On scanf if we enter "dog trainer", The variable will only have the "dog". Cutting the string if the scanf sees a space character. While on gets, If we input "dog trainer, The variable will have "dog trainer" as it is.

And if it satisfies the condition, The exchange will occur between the first index to the last index, then second index to the second to the last index and so on.

You see,

on our example BLOGER, We only need to do the exchange 3 times. Which means, we only need to do the exchange operation half the times the number of the characters on the string.

Well Rose, Instead of replying to your email, I've decided to post your question on my blog to help other people as well. And yeah, Thank you for emailing me this.

By the way, I've accidentally deleted my Turbo C on my PC and I have to download it again. I searched google and found a site that needs you to register to download Turbo C and I found that very unnecessary. So for you guys that needs Turbo C. Here it is. Turbo C.

Anyways. I assume you have Turbo C now so let's start!

What are the divisors of a number? They are the integers that divide exactly the number.

As stated above, 8. The divisors of 8 are 1,2,4 and 8. And since we need to exclude the number itself, we'll be down for only 1,2 and 4. Another example is 12, which has a divisor of 1,2,4 and 6 excluding the number it self.

In other words, Divisors of a number are simply the Factors of a number that when you divide the Number with that factor. The remainder is exactly 0.

Now for the Logic. Since we determine whether a Number is a Factor of Another number. We need to divide the Number to that another number and must have a remainder of 0. Then if we determine that it is a Divisor. We list it.

So to do that in C.

We need to put this condition.

Now signifies the end of our program. The getch() function simply makes the screen steady after the program is executed. While "return 0" simply makes our program more legit for the compiler because "main()" is a function and every function must have a return value. But it's still acceptable if we don't put that "return 0". Only we will have warnings by the compiler. Don't worry, Your program will still be working perfectly.

Online Freelancing vs Freelancing.

Hey guys. I just want to share an experience with you about Online Freelancing.

Now, What's the difference between Online Freelancing and just Freelancing? Simple, It's just that Online Freelancing can offer you more customers/projects because your market is worldwide. Any person with internet can avail your services. While just Freelancing, You're customers are limited. However, The risk on Online Freelancing is high. Why? Because you aren't 100% sure that your customer will pay you. I mean, They can just bluff you over the net. And that sucks. After you've done what they require you to do, They'll just leave you hanging. Unlike just Freelancing, You may have a chance to talk to your customers personally. And that is good because you can see how serious they are on availing your services.

Anyway, I Listed the Pros and Cons of Online Freelancing and just Freelancing. Here it is....

Now, While you can get customers/projects on someone you know with Freelancing, Online Freelancing does a different approach. You can meet people through internet and offer your services. Most of the time, People on the internet seeks services. You just need to find the right website to look for those people who are looking for your services.

And I found it on www.onlinejobs.ph. I just posted my profile. My strengths and weaknesses, my degree of education, my capabilities, etc. And after two days, Someone emailed me that they need an Internet Marketer for google adwords and also a programmer to setup wordpress blogging. I was interviewed online, through email and got hired as freelance marketer with a salary of $275 a month with project bonuses. Of course I need to take actions on how I am going to be payed. They said that I'd be payed using elance. Which is another website that will arrange payments for me. It is found at www.elance.com.

Now, What I love about elance is that they have a system called Escrow Funding. By which, When someone avail your services over the internet, You can request an Escrow Funding. If approved by the buyer of your program, The Escrow will be funded. And that fund is coming from your buyer. Which is in other words, a down payment.

But you can't just get the down payment yet. You have to work on the program and present it to the buyer. Now if the Buyer is satisfied by your services, Your Escrow funds will be released and you can withdraw your funds on your Paypal account.

Man! Is that easy? I mean, As a programmer. We have millions of possibilities online. It's our expertise. Abuse it to gain our own advantage.

Alright, First of all. Von, I am really glad that you emailed me. You're my first email sender by the way. And I am really grateful to share my solution with you. My college professor also assigned us an activity for fibonacci but it's coded using java. But hey, We programmers don't contain ourselves on a programming languages. We explore more and more. And as long as you have the idea and you know the syntax. You basically can do anything! So cheers to that Von!

Alright. We are going to right this on C. The very first programming language I've learned. I'll just give you the body though, and explain the codes line by line.

Oh yeah. What is Fibonacci? It is a series of numbers where when you add the first two previous numbers, you'll get the third number. so on and so fort.

Here's a fibonacci sequence.

0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144.....

See that the first two numbers is 0 and 1. The third number is calculated by adding the first two previous numbers. so 0 + 1 = 1. So thus the 1 + 1 =2 and 2 + 3 = 5.

Okay, now that we have an idea about it. Let's build the logic. Remember, It's always a good practice to plan first and build the logic, the manner on how you'll solve a specific problem before you engage in coding. I know it's somewhat a drag but it pays.

So. The program wants us to take an input. and do a fibonacci sequence until the number of the integer series reaches the inputed integer.

Example

Input: 5
Output: 0,1,1,2,3

Input: 8
Output: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13

Now, to do it. We need a to declare a variable to hold for the input number.a counter for the for loop which we will label "ctr" and an array that will hold the fibonacci series which is "out". For the input say we label a variable "num". The num will take the input and will serve as the fibonacci number perimeter for our for loop. Also, the num will serve as the perimeter of the number of outputs.

Declares num,ctr,out. note that in declaring an array in C. It should be followed by braces to indicate the index size of an array. There are many kinds of array but in this post, we'll just use single dimensional array.

Print the display.

out[0] = 0;
out[1] = 1;

Now. Why did we pre-declare the value for out[0] and out[1]?
Simple. Because it is a constant value in any fibonacci sequence.

Now this for loop. the out[ctr] is the current array which we will calculate the value and to calculate the value for that, we need to know the first two previous numbers before it. Thus, out[ctr-1] and out[ctr-2].

Since we have filled the array with fibonacci series. We need to output it.

Visual Basis Script (.vbs)

"VBS" or Visual Basic Script. It is commonly attached to HTML and help optimize a website interaction with the user. It is different from the full blown programming language which is Visual Basic. It's just a scripting language. Just like the difference of Java Script from Java.

A file with an extension of .vbs is also a VB Script. But this file can be accessed just like an executable file in your desktop.

It is very common to see a .vbs virus in your flash drive, CD or Hard Drive. Yes! You can create a virus using .vbs. It's either by altering a process, automatically do a process you don't want to execute, or doing a process repeatedly via infinite loops 'till the computer crashes. However, Using VBS can be helpful also with the proper use of the script. You can automatically macro a whole process that could take you minutes to finish with just one click on your .vbs files. It's just a matter of how you use the script.

Example, You have a computer shop and you don't want your customers to access task manager. It is doable with the use of vb. You can turn On or Off the access to task manager. And thus regedit and other shell writing capabilities to protect your business from hacking.

Here's an example of a code to turn off the Task Manager Access.

1. First, Open Notepad or Wordpad.

2. Type this series of codes.

Set shell = CreateObject("Wscript.shell")

This Code will set "shell", A variable, to an Object which will allow you to write commands on shell.

X=Inputbox("Enter choice, 1 to disable, 0 to enable")

Now we declare that "X" to be an input box. It can take two parameters.

e.g. Inputbox("Message","Title")

but as you can see on our example, we only typed in one parameter for message.

If X=1 Then

Now, We'll Check the user input on our input box. since "X" is the variable for our inputbox, The value we typed in was stored in "X".

Shell.RegWrite "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DisableTaskMgr", 1, "REG_DWORD"

Now, This code will trigger to Disable Task manager. It is simply a Path directing to a command where we can disable task manager.

Else

This will execute if the variable "X" is not equal to "1"

Shell.RegWrite "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DisableTaskMgr", 0, "REG_DWORD"

This functions same as the code above. but the only difference is the 1 and 0. We'll, Since the It is a path and DisableTaskMgr takes parameters as well. It takes 1 to disable and 0 to Enable. We'll discuss some more of this on my other posts. Don't worry.

End If

Always End your if statement with "End if"

3. Since we are done typing the codes. Save the file. Save it as .vbs. Just ad ".vbs" to what ever filename. in our example: taskmanager.vbs

4. After Saving, You'll see an icon with Blue "S" Image on it. It signifies that it is a "Script". The image is like this.

5. Now if you double click it. It wouldn't show you a wordprocessor GUI like java. Instead, It functions as an executable file. Directly executing whatever command that is written in that script.

6. Now, Let's see our product.

7. If you Input "1". Try hitting Alt-Ctrl-Del. You'll get this error message.

8. If you Input "0". You can access Task Manager again.

We'll, That's just It! Simple use of VBS. You can pull a prank to your friends just by using a little imagination. There are many things that can be done with VB script because it can write to your computer's shell (core). Explore them and you'll love VB Script as an easy to use non-expensive scripting language.
