Spyware Problem No More With These Easy Steps.

Spyware. We all know it, and hate it. Especially when your computer is running great, like you just bought it yesterday. Then, it gets slower and slower until it becomes unbearable and just plain annoying.
Get rid of your frustrations with these easy steps:
Step 1 - Back-Up Your Data
This is going to be something you wished you had already done if you haven't yet. Get everything important off that computer now. Use a form of digital storage (external hard drive, USB key, DVD etc.)
A second option is to use an online storage service. Simply search Google for "online file storage" and you will have more than enough choices.
Quick Tip: Do a full backup once a month, trust me you will thank me for it.
Step 2 - Create a Windows Restore Point
You might have read that System Restore must be turned off, and the existing Restore Points deleted before scanning for spyware, don't do this! Anything is possible when your dealing with malicious spyware, and if something goes wrong, you will have nothing to go back to.
If you are unsure of how to do this, consult the microsoft.com website for further instructions.
Quick Tip: Using the automatic option for Restore Points is a good idea.
Step 3 - Spyware Removal - Run Your Spyware Software
Most people do this step first and regret it. If you haven't done the first two steps, stop right now, and don't read any further until you've backed everything up.
Great, now let's talk spyware removal programs. The first thing you will notice is there are a lot of them. Some good, some bad and some contain spyware themselves!
Quick Tip: Always re-boot your computer after you have removed the spyware.
Step 4 - Check for Re-Infection
Another step missed by most frustrated computer users. I believe this is very important, so read carefully.
Call me crazy, but I bet that some spyware hides other forms of threats. Performing a scan after you have re-booted can ensure you've killed all the bugs.
Quick Tip: After this, setup your spyware software to scan weekly.
Step 5 - A Final Check
Hopefully by now the frustration is subsiding. My advice, re-boot the computer again. Grab a drink or a snack and surf the internet for a while and make sure you have been successful. Simple!
Quick Tip: Pay close attention to the sites you visit. When things pop up, you pop out.
